RD 101 - The Wife

By Jack Eberle

Israel was redeemed from Egypt. God gave Israel the covenant from Sinai. This is a marriage contract between Israel and Jehovah. To understand more fully the heart of God, look at Ezekiel 16. In this passage God speaks of the beginning, coming of age, and downhill move of His beloved. Notice Verses 2-6 Israel’s childhood, verses 4-5 speak of “nativity” and birth, verses 7-14 speaks of the growing up time. Notice the “marriage”covenant of verse 8. Verse 14 states, “And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty: for it was perfect through My comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord, God.”

RD 101 - The Gifts

By Jack Eberle

There is much to know about “the gifts” and they are widely misunderstood. We begin our look in I Cor. 1:5-7. God refers to them as “enrichment”. There are two categories: “utterance” and “knowledge”. Moving on to Mark 16:17-20 we note that they are for “confirming The Word”. Cf. I Cor. 1:6. The signs followed their preaching of The Word (vs.20). The eleven went forth after He appeared unto them as “they sat at meat” after He rose from the dead.

RD 101 Lesson 2

By Jack Eberle

In our first lesson we looked at the necessity of “straight cutting” or right division from II Timothy 2:15. Another equally important passage to instill in our hearts is II Timothy 3:16-17. “Every Scripture (or writing) breathed-God:” When you read verse 15 you readily understand that God has not spoken of pagan writings here. Their writings were not the subject in II Timothy.

RD 101 - The Truth Opposed

By Jack Eberle

We have been looking at II Timothy 2:15 in some detail. This is the beginning Scripture for the prospective workman in The Word. This is where it all begins. To learn The Word, one must “straight-cut”, or as it is more popularly known, “Rightly Divide”. There is no way around this admonition of God. Those who rightly divide will be unashamed workmen. Moreover, they will more certainly propagate The Word of Truth.

RD 101 - Kingdom of Heaven

By Jack Eberle

For a subject this important and grand, we can only expect our toe in the door. But patiently, we will try to get us off to a good start. We are not concerned with men’s opinions or philosophies here – only with The Word. The Scriptures’ word in the Greek is BASILEIA which basically indicates “sovereignty”.

Whatever Happened to Adam?

By Jack Eberle

One thing is sure. What happened to Adam was just and decided by God. A few facts will put this question in perspective.

Adam had been greatly blessed by God. Just to have been in His presence and to be able to eat of the tree of life for the time before his wrong choice was great blessing.

RD 101 - The Acts Period

By Jack Eberle

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” (Rom. 15:8) Jesus’ ministry to His people continued even though Christ had been crucified. Christ made a prayer while hanging on the Cross, for His beloved people, Israel. “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do..” (Luke 23:34) Thus, the answer to this prayer is the subject of the book of Acts. Paul had two ministries. His first ministry did not differ from the ministry of Christ to His people. THE JEWS WERE NOT SET ASIDE AT THE CROSS!

RD 101 - The Lamb

By Jack Eberle

The Lamb is the sacrificial basis upon which all claims to the throne are based. I counted 29 references in the Greek Scriptures to The Lamb. Twenty seven of these are in Revelation. Paul does not mention The Lamb. Revelation 5 is a beautiful chapter of Holy Writ. True worship is highly accented in the persons of the four living ones and the twenty-four elders. The elders have 28 golden vials full of odors which are the prayers of the saints.

RD 101 - The Mystery #2

By Jack Eberle

Though much has been written on “The Mystery”, still it can be considered as one of the most neglected topics of Scriptures.

To study the topic in depth, consult the studies of C. H. Welch, E.W.Bullinger, Stuart Allen, Oscar Baker, and our own dear Joe Watkins. These men have spent their lives in the Scriptures, and have seen the truths of “The Mystery” as no others. Here, we will try just to make a few outstanding points.

RD 101 Lesson

By Jack Eberle

Though by no means do I profess to know about all the Bible schools and seminaries now in operation, yet as a seeker and teacher of truth for some fifty years, it would seem that I could reasonably make this statement: I have never heard of a Bible school or seminary which taught a course named RD 101, i.e., Rightly Dividing 101, or for that matter, anything comparable. By making this statement, I don’t wish to denigrate the worthwhile efforts and accomplishments of any of these schools. God must be the judge of that. Would it not be sensible to begin at the beginning and teach the serious student RD101?

RD 101 - Healing

By Jack Eberle

Many are confused today about God’s healing. Some say there is no “divine” healing today. The simple answer to the question is that God can and does heal whomever He wishes according to His plan of the ages. It does not behoove we body members to question His decision today on healing as on any other matter. But what is His plan? Does He use doctors and/or healers? Once again, He can use any means any time He wishes. The Scriptures give us information of His plan for our dispensation. Did God’s plan change?

RD 101 - Inspiration #2

By Jack Eberle

The men chosen by God to be the bearers of His Word were not chosen for their talents or public acceptance. Only He can speak of His reasoning in the choices.

Moses pleaded, “I am not eloquent…but I am slow of speech, and of slow tongue.” God answered him that He would be with his mouth and teach him what to say.

RD 101 - Three Spheres of Blessing

By Jack Eberle

God’s Holy Word speaks of three spheres of blessing. They are the Earth, the New Jerusalem and the Upon-heavenlies. Genesis 1:2 says that God created the heavens and THE earth. While heavens are plural, there is only one earth. God’s plan for His earth centers around His creation of His chosen people, Israel.

Knowledge, Acknowledge

By Jack Eberle

Although our readers are among the most knowledgeable of Bible students, it is necessary to state a few premises.

  1. God's Word is totally inspired. (The technical term is "plenary inspiration".)
  2. God's Words are placed in His Holy Word purposefully and without error.

Therefore, we cannot accept some men's presumptions concerning what I call "casual" translation. A case in point is the "translations" of GNOSIS (knowledge) and EPIGNOSIS (acknowledgement). They are guilty of not observing Philippians l:10, "things that differ". We want to examine the meanings of these two words.

RD 101 - "The" Mystery

By Jack Eberle

“The” Mystery is different from other mysteries which are denominated in various ways. This is in God’s great plan of the ages (Heb. 11:3). The “mystery” is not revealed until the Great Divide has occurred which was about 60 A.D. After this, Paul writes the seven mystery epistles to “the church who is His body”. They will not be understood by others. This literal truth is spiritual as opposed to earthly or sensual. The epistles of the mystery which are the last portions of inspired Word to be written are Eph., Ph’p, Col., I and II Tim., Tit., and Ph’m. Some of these were written by Paul from prison in Rome. II Tim. was the last letter written.
