Israel was redeemed from Egypt. God gave Israel the covenant from Sinai. This is a marriage contract between Israel and Jehovah. To understand more fully the heart of God, look at Ezekiel 16. In this passage God speaks of the beginning, coming of age, and downhill move of His beloved. Notice Verses 2-6 Israel’s childhood, verses 4-5 speak of “nativity” and birth, verses 7-14 speaks of the growing up time. Notice the “marriage”covenant of verse 8. Verse 14 states, “And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty: for it was perfect through My comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord, God.”

Getting An Understanding - The Ressurrection of The Body

The Greek word in our Bible for our word body is No. 4983, soma. We find this word over 140 times and all have been rendered body, or bodies all but one time, in Rev. 18:13 the word slaves was used. In studying this subject, it became very interesting to find that the Old Testament Hebrew language does not have a word for body in it. The word they use is the word for flesh. And whereas we think of the individuality of a man in the word body, the Jewish mindset finds this in the Hebrew word nephesh, the word for soul, so they would say that souls will die or there were eight souls in the Ark; we would say eight people and the person will die.
