Colossians 2:2 (Workman's Interlinear)

By Jack Eberle

“joining together in love...” “and unto all riches of the full assurance of the understanding.” “unto acknowledgment of the mystery of the God, Christ”

It is sometimes assumed by those not familiar with the Body believer, that he/she is an imperturbable, super-human, stoic person who bears all with infinite patience.

RD 101 Lesson

By Jack Eberle

Though by no means do I profess to know about all the Bible schools and seminaries now in operation, yet as a seeker and teacher of truth for some fifty years, it would seem that I could reasonably make this statement: I have never heard of a Bible school or seminary which taught a course named RD 101, i.e., Rightly Dividing 101, or for that matter, anything comparable. By making this statement, I don’t wish to denigrate the worthwhile efforts and accomplishments of any of these schools. God must be the judge of that. Would it not be sensible to begin at the beginning and teach the serious student RD101?

RD 101 Lesson 2

By Jack Eberle

In our first lesson we looked at the necessity of “straight cutting” or right division from II Timothy 2:15. Another equally important passage to instill in our hearts is II Timothy 3:16-17. “Every Scripture (or writing) breathed-God:” When you read verse 15 you readily understand that God has not spoken of pagan writings here. Their writings were not the subject in II Timothy.

RD 101 - Three Spheres of Blessing

By Jack Eberle

God’s Holy Word speaks of three spheres of blessing. They are the Earth, the New Jerusalem and the Upon-heavenlies. Genesis 1:2 says that God created the heavens and THE earth. While heavens are plural, there is only one earth. God’s plan for His earth centers around His creation of His chosen people, Israel.

Prayer

By Oscar M. Baker

Prayer is communication. Supplication is only one part of it. There doesn’t need to be any supplication in it. Prayer can be just talking with God like when Adam talked with God in the garden. Abraham had communication with God, and Enoch walked with God. David had some communication with God, and his Psalms show this forth. Now there are different kinds of prayer.

RD 101 - The Wife

By Jack Eberle

Israel was redeemed from Egypt. God gave Israel the covenant from Sinai. This is a marriage contract between Israel and Jehovah. To understand more fully the heart of God, look at Ezekiel 16. In this passage God speaks of the beginning, coming of age, and downhill move of His beloved. Notice Verses 2-6 Israel’s childhood, verses 4-5 speak of “nativity” and birth, verses 7-14 speaks of the growing up time. Notice the “marriage”covenant of verse 8. Verse 14 states, “And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty: for it was perfect through My comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord, God.”

Final Remarks #2

By Oscar M. Baker

[To begin this article, the very important key point from the last one of the same title, will be repeated.]

And so in the case of husbands and wives; husbands are to love their wives, and wives are to obey their own husbands (not the priest or preacher or anybody else) that is a close relationship.

RD 101 - The Acts Period

By Jack Eberle

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” (Rom. 15:8) Jesus’ ministry to His people continued even though Christ had been crucified. Christ made a prayer while hanging on the Cross, for His beloved people, Israel. “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do..” (Luke 23:34) Thus, the answer to this prayer is the subject of the book of Acts. Paul had two ministries. His first ministry did not differ from the ministry of Christ to His people. THE JEWS WERE NOT SET ASIDE AT THE CROSS!

Faulty Vision

By Oscar M. Baker

“And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.” Now all that most folks can see in this passage is that there shall be a resurrection, both of the just and the unjust. That is as far as they can get. Their eyes will not take in the words hope and allow. And since this is inspired Scripture, are these words unimportant?

RD 101 - Christ Rightly Divides

By Jack Eberle

As long as there are knaves and fools in the world, Christ’s body-members will regard the Word as “precious” and “powerful”. Christ, our Head, has set us the great example in Luke 4:14-21. Early in the chapter the chief knave of all time had been froward enough to challenge our Lord in the Blessed Word. This horrendous, ungrateful being has not accepted the fear of almighty God even as many of his froward followers have not.

Getting An Understanding - The Parousia

By Joseph L. Watkins

As the 70 men that were called on to do the work of translating the Greek into the English of the King James Bible came to the words baptize (Strong's #907), baptism (3908), baptismos (#909) and baptistes (#910), they soon saw that they had a real difficult problem - they could not find an English word that expressed what was being said in the Greek words, so they took the sounds of the Greek letters to make a new English word. So we now have four new words “baptism” and other like-sounding words.

Getting An Understanding - The Ressurrection of The Body

By Joseph L. Watkins

The Greek word in our Bible for our word body is No. 4983, soma. We find this word over 140 times and all have been rendered body, or bodies all but one time, in Rev. 18:13 the word slaves was used. In studying this subject, it became very interesting to find that the Old Testament Hebrew language does not have a word for body in it. The word they use is the word for flesh. And whereas we think of the individuality of a man in the word body, the Jewish mindset finds this in the Hebrew word nephesh, the word for soul, so they would say that souls will die or there were eight souls in the Ark; we would say eight people and the person will die.

Getting An Understanding - The Resurrection of The Recompense 2

By Joseph L. Watkins

We would first ask our readers to go back to our last paper if you have it, and bring yourself up to where we want to start our study this time. As we are seeking to know and have a better understanding, and a fuller appreciation of just what it is we are to answer to as we much be recompensed at the resurrection of judgment (John 5:29); to find some of the things we must consider, we are going through the seven epistles that together make up Paul's one book, that he wrote as "truth for today." Yes, seven chapters: Philippians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon. And we were in Eph. 3:9 as we closed our last paper.
