Luke 16:1-12 has an interesting story to ponder. In a way, the story is “down to earthy”.

Paul, the great apostle, wrote many of the epistles of the “N.T”. But what kind of man was he? Or maybe even, what kind of human being was he?

Murex was a tiny mollusk, and was a staple commodity of Phoenician businesses. “Tiny” must be emphasized because it took so many of these tiny creatures to produce enough of the purple dye which may adorn the raiment of only the highest royalty.

I heard somebody say once that “right Division” can’t be too important because it is found only once in the Scriptures. Yet, the overlooked and essentially mistranslated verse of Philippians 1:10 is certainly a correlative of II Tim. 2:15. While the KJV translators are well-intentioned and essentially positive, it would seem that they miss the mark. Paul, also the writer of II Tim. 2:15 ”Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” also writes Phil. 1:10. While “excellent” is usually a perfectly good translation, the element of “differing” is strong in the Word.

Deuteronomy 26:9-11 tells us the beginning of the Pentecost story. From the time for the harvester to put the sickle to the corn came to pass, seven weeks were numbered. A feast followed and an appropriate offering was offered to the Lord, God. It was time for the whole family to rejoice.

Look at Daniel 10. Read verses four onward. The event is set in basic reality from the substance of verse 4. Then quickly the narrative turns to a stark, bright glorious figure bringing Daniel to his knees. Verse 10 puts him also on the palms of his hands. Daniel is complimented and referred to as “greatly beloved”.

“Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, there a little, there a little” (Isaiah 28:9-10).
These verses have some good advice to those wanting to learn the Scriptures. God counsels a good practice in learning in this life: “Line upon line”. This methodical principle culminates in “The Body Epistles” for these are the last portions of Scriptures in point of time. To actually and accurately learn the Scriptures (i.e. God’s Word) one will have to “walk accurately”. This is found in Ephesians 5:15. The word there translated “circumspectly” is akrobose = accurately.
