The men chosen by God to be the bearers of His Word were not chosen for their talents or public acceptance. Only He can speak of His reasoning in the choices.

Moses pleaded, “I am not eloquent…but I am slow of speech, and of slow tongue.” God answered him that He would be with his mouth and teach him what to say.

Many of lesser minds were yet chosen by their Lord to serve him in different ways. While Moses was slow of speech, he was not uneducated. Yet his attitude about his education was a great deal more important to God than the education itself. God used him to write five books of His Word. They are known as the Pentateuch.

Jeremiah, the prophet, was chosen by God to be the bearer of two books of God’s Holy Word. God formed him in the womb to be a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

In Galatians 1:15, Paul, the most prolific of Biblical writers, states that he was separated from his mother’s womb for his great task. Paul wrote 14 portions of God’s Holy Word, borne along by His Spirit.

A choice portion of His Holy Word on the creation of The Holy Scripture is II Peter 1:20-21. “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of The Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old times by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by The Holy Ghost.” KJV

Men will interpret according to their desires and prejudices, but remember, The Scripture is of “no private interpretation”.

The Word of God was written down as the men were guided to write by His Holy Spirit. It was not necessary that they would understand what they wrote. God knew the Words He wanted to be written.

It should be understood that the men themselves did not have to understand all or anything which they wrote. Their wills were not involved in the writing.

In Acts 27:15, we have the idea expressed as to the nature of God’s usage of His servants in the putting down of His Word. They were “borne along”.

Those men used to prophesy were just that, “used”. They had no human or personal inputs into the prophecies.

Notice II Samuel 32:2, “The Spirit of the Lord spake by me and His Word was in my tongue.” Samuel acknowledges the complete inspiration of God in the writing of His Word.

Acts 1:16 Notice the phrase “Men and brethern, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, ...”

Acts 3:18 “But those things, which God before had shown by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has so fulfilled.”
