After working on a fuller understanding and appreciation of the great subject and divine place of The Reconciliation Work of Christ Jesus for the past year or so, it seems very logical and right to move on to The Divine Subject of Redemption, and as always we seek only The Truth as only The One Teacher of All Truth can make it known - may He have His Way, always.

As we study the scriptures, we note that God has not dealt with all men in all ages in the same manner. We have come to call these changes DISPENSATIONS. They are not so much periods of time as they are descriptive of the way that God deals with men.

“Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, there a little, there a little” (Isaiah 28:9-10).
These verses have some good advice to those wanting to learn the Scriptures. God counsels a good practice in learning in this life: “Line upon line”. This methodical principle culminates in “The Body Epistles” for these are the last portions of Scriptures in point of time. To actually and accurately learn the Scriptures (i.e. God’s Word) one will have to “walk accurately”. This is found in Ephesians 5:15. The word there translated “circumspectly” is akrobose = accurately.

Q. What is the rock and what is the church mentioned in Matthew 16:18?
That rock was that which the Father had revealed unto Peter, Simon Stone (rolling stone). The church before had been founded on the promise made to Abraham. It was the church in the wilderness (Acts 7:38). That rock is Christ, the Son of God.

The apostles were given a commission in Mark 16:15-20. That was just before the ascension of the Lord, and He tells these apostles what they were to do. He told them to go unto all the world and preach the Gospel. Now a lot of people would immediately take it that this meant that they were to preach to both Jew and Gentile in all the world. But when you look at it closely and see what they did, you can see that this commission in Mark 16 is for them to preach to Jews only. They were to preach to Jews that were scattered in all the nations; and that's the reason why they were to go out unto all the nations and bring the good news of the Messiah that has come, and of the coming kingdom to every Jew on the face of the earth.
