RD 101 - Continuing Biblical Saga of the Kingdom

“Thou hast put all things in subjection under His feet. For in that He put all in subjection under Him, He left nothing that is not put under Him. But now we see not yet all things put under Him” (Hebrews 2:8 KJV).

God set out to choose a people of His own to be under the Headship of His beloved Son – His own beloved body. They would be thoroughly ensconced in the upon-heavenlies, the place that is high above any earthly entities and more. Further, they would be of the nations and would have hearts circumcised and baptized in heart. These were not subject to fleshly ordinances of man or carnal religious notions. Further, they would be with Christ at the right hand of the Father at the right hand of God. (Read Ephesians and Colossians.) But with this notable exception, the story of the Scriptures beginning with His earthly people is the story of “kingdom”. From the faltering earthly kings, through David, Saul, Solomon, and a host of others, God struggled with His people from good to better, from better to bad, and from helpless and finally godless, until God had no recourse but to set them aside for a time. Acts 28:28. But God will bring His people back. He will set up His kingdom on earth. Revelation 20 records a part of this continuing quest of God to establish His earthly people in His earthly kingdom. This, of course, is not the end of the story. The book of Revelation tells much of these culminating truths. God’s prophecies, many of them concerning the Kingdom, would come to holy fruition.
