Things Most Surely Believed As To - Resurrection 5
/By Joseph L. Watkins
"If we have been planted (buried) together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection" (Romans 6:5).
And from this and other such statements we must conclude that if any man be NOT planted with Christ Jesus, that man shall not take part in the resurrection. We also read in Luke 20:36: "The dead, neither marry, nor given in marriage: neither can they die any more;... and are the children of God, being the sons of the resurrection."
And from this we must conclude that any son of father Adam, that has not become the son of God, will not become the son of resurrection. As resurrection life can only be received as one is in Christ Jesus. Such men that can even imagine a resurrection for the dead sons of a dead race, imagine a very strange and untrue phenomenon, and they must deny the truth of God's own word.
Is it truth, or is it less than Truth? Where it is recorded of the one Spirit of all truth, as we read this profound word: "Where John was baptizing, John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith behold The lamb of God, which taketh away - The SIN OF THE WORLD" (John 1:29).
Some men say John was wrong in what he said, for the lamb of God could only take on Himself the sin of the believers of the gospel massage of Jesus Christ. Yet, we also learn from 2 Cor. 5:19: "That God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, NOT IMPUTING their Trespasses (sins) Unto Them."
This reconciling work of The Lamb of God, did not give life to all the world, as that can only come through a personal faith in His death, His burial and His Resurrection. But all sin of all men is covered, there as nothing on any man's account. Yet, without life in Christ Jesus resurrection is not in any man's future. We also learn from reading Rom. 6:23: "THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Yes, life is a gift, but death is "WAGES" most are pleased to see others have the gift of life in Christ Jesus, but many are very displeased with the unbelievers WAGES. Most just "feel" that the our holy creator must have a higher pay schedule. To their way of thinking God is just not just if a man with the record of a Hitler is only to die as all other men. And then turning to Rom. 5:6-10 we read: "When we were yet without strength (sin sick) Christ (the Lamb of God) died for the ungodly...while we were yet sinners...when we were enemies."
