The Gospel of John #53

Continuing our review of the Gospel of John, Chapter 9:7- 9:17 the debate on whether or not the rulers should believe that Jesus is indeed the Christ of God even the great I AM. The Lord also heals the blind man.
Vs John 9:7 “And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.” We know that the blind man followed these instructions exactly because he was healed.
Vs John 9:8 “The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?” These neighbours are the witnesses that testified to the miracle which they saw.
Vs John 9:9 “Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.” We notice that not all the witnesses were in complete agreement about what they saw.
Vs John 9:10 “Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?” So they began to question the man who was born blind.
Vs John 9:11 “He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.” The blind man repeats the instructions that he was given and that he did exactly as he was told.by Jesus.
Vs John 9:12 “Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.” Since he does not know the answer to their question, these neighbours decide to take him before the Pharisees.
Vs John 9:13 “They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.” There seems to be a question concerning the law or their religion that they need cleared up.
Vs John 9:14 “And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.” We read that the question they had revolves around whether or not the Lord making clay on the sabbath was legal or not.
Vs John 9:15 “Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.” We can understand that these Pharisees were looking for a way to find a fault with Jesus and not with the man who was blind.
Vs John 9:16 “Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.” Their argument is centered around if the Lord worked on the Sabbath day.
